But John Archie wasn't here last year. Instead, the Admirals' newest head coach is focused on the here and now.
"We won district last year, but we came out this year in the Spring, we said we want to start a new thing and set the standard," Archie said. "Be better than average."
Archie replaces Eddie Pierce, who he previously worked under as the Gulfport defensive coordinator from 2013-15.
"It's a good time. He came in right at a good time," said senior wide receiver and cornerback Zae Crane. "Coach Pierce was a good coach, and (Archie) came in, filled in his spot, added some new stuff. It's filling in pretty well."
